Position Summary
The role of the Purchasing Manager reports to the Vice President of Strategic Sourcing. This position is responsible for the management of the Purchasing department including acquisition of materials, equipment, and services. This position maintains communication with customers, vendors, and accounting. This position oversees management of Buyers, Pricing Utilization Analyst, and Coordinators.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Ensure all areas of the department meet standards established by Washington Regional and all local, state, and federal regulations regarding health, sanitation, and safety
- Provide leadership and direction in accordance with organization goals and objectives
- Promote team building, trust, and respect in every aspect of the organization
- Establish education and training programs to support staff development and promote a multifunctional team
- Maintain culture of safety and recommend workflow changes, as appropriate
- Ensure that all Washington Regional policies and procedures are effectively communicated to and implemented by all staff
- Participate in recruitment efforts including interviewing, hiring, and handling complex personnel issues
- Review and process purchase orders
- Maintain accurate inventory records
- Develop and maintain working relationships with vendors, business partners, and internal departments
- Maintain complete and accurate purchasing documentation, financial reports, and all personnel files
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Associates degree in relevant field, preferred.
- Licensure & Certifications: N/A
- Experience: Minimum 2 years experience of purchasing processes, computerized inventory systems and buying/procurement for hospital system, required. Minimum of 6 months previous supervisory or leadership experience, required.
Work Environment: This position will spend 60% of time sitting while performing work in standard office environment. This position will spend 40% of time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying up to 50 lbs.
