RN, Staff Development Coordinator
Washington Rehabilitation & Nursing Center is seeking an experienced RN, Staff Development Coordinator to join our team.
FLSA: EXEMPT
Shift: 8:00 am- 4:30 pm
The primary function of the Staff Development Coordinator is to orient and educate all nursing personnel in the nursing center and to ensure safe effective nursing care according to the federal, state, and facility guidelines, policies and procedures.
The Staff Development Coordinator plans, develops, evaluates, tracks and coordinates all in-service educational programs and on the job training programs throughout the facility, ensuring that all federal, state and facility standards and guidelines are met.
The Staff Development Coordinator works closely with HR manager to provide new hire orientation. The SDC evaluates the educational needs to ensure on-going continuing education and adherence to the applicable required in-service education for all staff. Identifies, assesses, and implements in-service programs as needed regarding the satisfactory performance of clinical skills and knowledge.
Job Description:
The Staff Development Coordinator (SDC) is responsible for providing new hire orientation, annual follow up training and education in- service programs as needed for all staff. The SDC plans, organizes, implements and coordinates the healthcare center’s nursing staff education programs in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
Works closely with Management staff is assessing training needs and plan programs that meet priority needs and regulatory requirements. Continually, communicate with the Director of Nursing to assess needs in relation to staff training needs as a basis for determining priorities. Responsible for obtaining resources from the community.
Job Description:
- Organize, implement and facilitate staff training and development programs to ensure employees have the knowledge and skills required to support organizational objectives.
- Designing or conducting work-related training and development programs to improve individual skills or organizational performance.
- Training new hires and developing existing staff, assessing performance and identifying individual skills or organizational performance. Plan and implement employeetraining programs that align with company objectives.
- Teach Nurse Aide curriculum, administers quizzes, written examinations and skills performance checklist to trainees.
- Maintain the required education records for federal, state and facility regulations. Serve as a member of the leadership management team and work collaboratively with other departments to support the facility.
- Administrator and track TB test and CPR certifications.
- Participates in ‘Nurse on Call Program and QA process.
- Assume additional responsibility and perform other duties and responsibilities including special projects, as assigned.
