Position Summary
The Appointment Scheduler, under the supervision of the Patient Access Manager, provides exceptional customer service by ensuring a positive patient experience for new and seasoned patients alike. This includes but is not limited to:
- Registering and/or updating patient registrations completely and accurately
- Verifying insurance eligibility and updating insurance
- Scheduling, cancelling, and rescheduling appointments
- Answering incoming phone lines in a welcoming and professional manner
- Checking voicemail lines and returning calls in a timely manner
- Informing patients of any existing balance and request patient be prepared for any payment due at time of visit
- Staying current on task-bucket messages
- Maintaining confidentiality of patient information
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelors preferred
- 1-2 years minimum work experience in front office setting, scheduling, etc.
- Strong computer proficiency with Windows and Outlook experience
- Good decision-making, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to perform multiple tasks in a busy, ever-changing environment
- Previous experience in healthcare preferred
- Previous experience with scheduling medical appointments preferred
