Waterford.org is recruiting for a Program Coach position. The primary responsibility of the Program Coach is to connect, support and guide the families and caretakers of learners using the Waterford Upstart program. Waterford Upstart provides FREE in-home early literacy software and academic support to prepare children for kindergarten.
Parents/guardians are their child's first teacher. As a Waterford Upstart Program Coach, you will conduct conversations with assigned families and caregivers actively using Waterford Upstart programs through scheduled and unscheduled outbound contact. These discussions will focus on the children's academic progress, social-emotional well-being, motivation, and software usage routine while guiding parents and caregivers to existing Waterford Upstart resources. Program Coaches previous professional experience in education (social work, early learning, etc.) makes them an invaluable mentor and resource to Waterford Upstart families.
A typical workday is super structured and will be spent on a computer guiding families who are using the Waterford Upstart software via computer texting, emailing, and outbound phone calls. Your passion for preparing a child for a lifelong love of learning is foundational to authentic family engagement and learner success!
Responsibilities

Facilitate an encouraging relationship with families and caretakers representing culturally and socially diverse backgrounds by providing academic guidance and social emotional support to advance child learning

Communicate in culturally and linguistically responsive ways by understanding family backgrounds, cultures, and learning goals to differentiate coaching strategies that meet the child’s learning needs

Connect with parents through various outbound contact methods to answer questions, offer motivational tips to encourage their child's software usage, and empower families as partners in their child’s learning and school readiness.

Time management is critical as a remote coach. You must be working to support our Upstart families throughout the entire 8-hour shift

Manage inbound calls, text and email for program support and responses to our outbound inquiries.

Schedule follow-up appointments to build an ongoing relationship that work within the user's availability

Manage software usage and user profiles using an online management system

Meet all departmental critical metrics, such as quality, efficiency and contact requirements

Qualifications

2 to 5 years Early Education experience, social work, or related field

BS/BA in education, social work, psychology, sociology, early education, or similar degree preferred

Ability to provide outstanding customer service while guiding/mentoring parents and enable them to be their kid's first teacher

Outstanding communication using all forms of contact: phone, email, and text

Proven track record to actively listen while displaying emotional intelligence and understanding to a diverse group of participants while providing program support

Independent worker who is a naturally proactive, skilled problem solver, especially in a work-from-home environment

Comfortable in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment with strong organizational skills and good time management

Demonstrated ability to collaborate with coworkers/departments to learn new processes and technical troubleshooting skills quickly

Keyboard at least 40 WPM and proficient in Google Suite

Working at Waterford.org
Waterford.org team members are located across the United States and primarily work from home. We anticipate this full time, hourly position will pay $20.00 per hour depending on the education, experience and skill level of the individual we hire. In addition to your base salary Waterford has an annual bonus program. We offer a phenomenal benefits package that includes fully paid primary premiums for health insurance, dental insurance, basic life insurance, and disability insurance. New hires receive a one-time HSA contribution. Retirement contributions are matched up to 5% by the organization. Plus, a generous vacation, sick, and holiday offering. Currently, Waterford requires all new hires to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or file a religious or medical exemption (as applicable by federal, state, and local law).
