We are seeking highly motivated individuals to join our Watercraft Inspection team on Christmas Lake. As a Level 2 Watercraft Inspector, you will play a critical role in preventing the spread of invasive species across the state.
This is an excellent opportunity for students, teachers, and individuals aged 55 who want to gain valuable experience and contribute to a vital cause.
You will undergo comprehensive training provided by the DNR, equipping you with the skills and knowledge necessary to inspect and decontaminate boats effectively. Upon completion of the training, you will be ready to start making a difference immediately.
Key Responsibilities:
- Educate the public about the AIS program and current issues.
- Distribute literature and pamphlets to raise awareness.
- Inspect watercraft for invasive species, both incoming and outgoing.
- Conduct verbal surveys to gather important information.
- Document inspection activities thoroughly.
- Stay up-to-date with best practices for inspecting and decontaminating watercraft.
Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a professional setting.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and adverse weather conditions.
- Requires standing, walking, and mobility to perform duties in the boat launch area.
