Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Property Accountant to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a supportive, faith-based environment and is eager to contribute their accounting and administrative skills. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the accounting tasks for multiple rental properties across the US while providing valuable assistance to the accounting department on various projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with property managers to track all financial aspects of rental properties, including income (rent), expenses (maintenance, utilities), and tenant details, providing detailed financial reports that help managers evaluate property performance and make informed decisions about operations.
- Assist in the creation and monitoring of rental property budgets, ensuring financial goals are met.
- Perform accurate data entry to ensure thorough record-keeping.
- Prepare 1099 forms for vendors and contractors.
- Oversight and maintenance of CGA schedules, accounts, and payments.
- Ensure compliance with state, local, and federal tax regulations for all properties.
- Procure and maintain property insurance policies as needed to ensure coverage.
- Assist with internal filing of tax returns and distribution of K-1s to recipients.
- Provide administrative support for special projects and ad hoc tasks as assigned by the CFO and Accounting Manager.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive financial data.
- Work closely with team members to ensure adherence to government regulations and company policies regarding document management and retention.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Previous experience in administrative and accounting roles.
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably in accounting) or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Knowledge of rental property accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with accounting software is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
