Principal - Wausau Area Virtual Academy (WAVE) - Part-time

Description JOIN OUR PRINCIPAL TEAM leading the Wausau Area Virtual Academy (WAVE)! This is a part-time (0.5FTE) position.

JOB OBJECTIVE :

Administer all phases of the school’s operation and curricular offerings, and supervise staff and students. The Principal is responsible to carry out policies and directives of the School Board and District Administration.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

• Develop a school learning climate which supports the instructional efforts of the teaching staff through the District’s School Improvement process.
• Review job applications, interview applicants, and make recommendations for hiring staff.
• Maintain a continuous program of evaluation, both as to the efficiency of the personnel and the appropriateness of the program.
• Must be accessible to all employees to listen, encourage, and facilitate the daily operations of the building.
• Establish staff development for personnel pertaining to school procedures, policies, discipline, curriculum, and operations.
• Provide effective communication of the school programs.
• Prepare and administer the building budget and general office funds.
• Provide leadership to promote educational research and practices.
• Monitor national, state, and local student achievement results, as well as other school / student performance data.
• Implement Board Policies and administrative rules and regulations with fidelity.
• Maintain school and student records in accordance with the Statutes of the State of Wisconsin and the policies of the Board of Education.
• Evaluate professional and non-professional staff.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS :

EDUCATION :

Required : Master’s degree in administration from an accredited college or university.

WORK EXPERIENCE :

Required : 3-5 years teaching / administrative experience; proven virtual educational setting experience.

LICENSING :

Required : Wisconsin DPI Principal license and Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License.
