Job Description
We have an immediate need for a Mechanical Engineer II for a contract position at our Corporate Headquarters. The position is scheduled to be a 6 -12 month contract with possibility of extension or hire on.
Overview:
The Mechanical Engineer II is responsible for developing and maintaining mechanical system designs under the direction of a senior engineer or manager. They lead the development of subsystems in larger design efforts or the complete mechanical system development in smaller projects. Provides engineering support to internal and external customers and performs other tasks as assigned.
Duties Include:
Translate requirements into a system architecture and detailed design.
Design and develop complex mechanical systems, equipment, and products for industrial machinery.
Validate designs through analysis and testing.
Coordinate own design efforts as well as other engineers and designers to meet production schedules and provide project task estimates and updates to project team.
Requirements:
Education: BS in Mechanical Engineering
Experience: 3 years experience developing and maintaining mechanical system designs.
Licenses/Certifications: Obtain and maintain railroad safety training and credentials
Education: MS in Mechanical Engineering
Experience: 3 years experience in the following:
Power systems, engineer integration into power units and generator sets (up to 2000 Hp/1.3MW).
Complex/large scale machine layout and kinematic design.
Large scale structural design and analysis.
Directing individual engineers or designers.
Licenses/Certifications: EIT
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge in Autodesk and ERP software
