Waxhaw Soccer Club is dedicated to serving Waxhaw and the surrounding communities with a high quality, high value soccer school for children of all ages and skill levels. We promote a healthy lifestyle and provide an environment for children to learn the benefits of hard work, fair play, dedication, and self-respect as well as respect for others.
We have several opportunities to direct coaches and to coach that require 2-5 years of experience of competitive youth soccer coaching, directing coaches, communicating with parents, and fostering relationships with directors of neighboring soccer clubs. The position begins in late June 2025 and concludes in May 2026, with direct opportunities to extend employment. Waxhaw is looking for directors who will play a long-term role in our soccer community.
Candidates will guide and age-appropriate and inspiring training environment to promote the growth, success, and happiness of our competitive athletes through soccer.
Position Details:
Organization, Scheduling, and Planning:
- Assist coaches and directors with strategic curriculum planning and scheduling
- Communicating schedules and activities with soccer board, soccer coaches, directors, and soccer community
- Build positive relationships with area Academy Directors and club executive directors.
- Ask for scheduling feedback from coaches, managers, and select parents/whole program.
- Build relationship with Bill Furjanic, NCYSA, and neighboring club directors.
- Organize and facilitate tryouts for the following year: May 2026 tryouts
Communication:
- Face-to-face meetings with staff and parents
- Directly with coaches (in-person, ZOOM, email); on-going and in-person throughout the year
- Directly with academy managers (email)
- Directly with academy parents (email) as a whole, per team, and/or individual parents based on need
- Check-in with DOC once per week (phone)
Curriculum:
- Digital document should be on-going and accessible to coaches.
- Can be created after meeting with coaches
- Should be communicated through classroom session, clinics, on-going process
- Communicated clearly and effectively
- Goals: Vertical vocabulary; Simple to complex progressions; Unique/characteristic of Waxhaw soccer; vertical development made clear to all coaches and parents.
- Aligned with what makes Waxhaw players unique to our area.
Staffing:
- Hiring responsibilities with communication with executive DOC.
- Process can be initiated, facilitated, and completed independent of the DOC so long as the DOC is aware of both the need and intent to hire.
- Coaching salaries are finalized by executive DOC.
Training:
- 2-5 days per week or direct or indirect contact with coaches and players
- Optional technical training on additional day, organized by Academy director
- Communicates weekly objectives to coaches via Sunday email.
- Can lead training for individual teams
- Can model by training alongside game coaches
- Can self-assign team(s) to game coach
- Establishes a mentality of pride: love for teammates, coaches, training hard, self-confidence and respect, sportsmanship, competitiveness
- Builds meaningful relationships with players, parents, and coaches.
Competitive Events
- Fulfill game coach responsibilities
- Fulfill assistant coach responsibilities
- Communicate and build relationships with area directors.
- Assist in facilitation of match schedules
- Assist in facilitation of tournament entries
Job Types: Part-time, Contract, Temporary
Pay: $1,000.00 - $4,500.00 per month
