Job Description:
Primary Function: The HR Coordinator is responsible for scheduling and delivering new hire orientation, data entry, and pre-employment tasks such as validating rehire status, job previews, and paperwork completion for hourly employees. This role also provides clerical support to the HR team, including acting as the first point of contact for current employees and walk-in applicants.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Schedule and deliver hourly new hire orientation to ensure new employees understand Company policies and procedures; validate and enter required new hire paperwork information into Workday at time of orientation.
- Coordinate, conduct, and follow up onboarding tasks to ensure timely completion and accurate data entry.
- Check rehire status at application in Workday and other databases, merging records as needed.
- Partner with recruiting to schedule new hires for orientation, paperwork, job previews, and other activities ensuring a positive new hire experience.
- Screen job bid candidates, work with Recruiter on scheduling interviews, and present offer letters to successful applicants, loading manual offer letters into Workday.
- Act as first point of contact for walk-in applicants, answering basic HR policy questions or directing to relevant HR teammates.
- Perform miscellaneous departmental tasks such as badging, social security issue resolution, I-9 completion, Pay Card administration, and WOTC.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
- Follow safety initiatives, wear PPE when necessary, and contribute to a zero-accident culture.
- Assist with employee engagement activities as requested.
Supervisor Responsibilities:
- This is an individual contributor role requiring competencies in Functional/Technical Skills, Action Oriented, Problem Solving, Learning on the Fly, and Interpersonal Savvy.
Education and Certifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience and Skills:
- Demonstrated relevant clerical experience, preferably in human resources.
- Strong computer skills using Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook), and knowledge/experience in Workday or similar HCM systems.
- Effective communication in English, both verbally and written, with internal and external customers in a timely and professional manner.
- Ability to communicate in multiple languages is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize.
- Self-starter with strong initiative and sense of urgency, capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
Safety Requirements:
- Follow and ensure others follow departmental and company safety policies and programs.
- Wear required protective equipment in all areas where mandatory.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to remain stationary for extended periods.
- Available to work non-standard hours, including holidays, weekends, and extended shifts as needed.
