About the Role
The Department of Computer Science located in the heart of Detroit on Wayne State University's mid-town campus is seeking a driven professional to be the go-to person for both student recruitment (graduate and undergraduate) and data-driven enrollment planning. You’ll work closely with our Department Chair, faculty committees, and advisors to attract top talent and ensure smooth, well-planned academic operations.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment Leadership: Plan and lead on- and off-campus recruitment events, including high school visits, college fairs, and outreach programs. Engage with prospective students and families to showcase our programs.
Data Analysis & Planning: Track enrollments, forecast graduation bottlenecks, and assist the Department Chair with scheduling courses to optimize time to graduation.
Graduate Admissions Support: Collaborate with the Graduate Program Director to review applications and streamline admission processes for M.S. and Ph.D. candidates.
Assessment & Reporting: Coordinate department accreditation/assessment activities (ABET, HLC) and maintain databases to monitor student progress. Prepare data reports to guide strategic decisions.
Marketing & Outreach: Develop recruitment materials (slides, brochures, flyers) and serve as an ambassador for the department at local, regional, and national events.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s (or Master’s) degree in a related field (education, counseling, higher ed, etc.).
Experience in higher education, recruitment, admissions, or a similar role.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities to connect with diverse audiences.
Ideal candidates will demonstrate creativity, adaptability, and a passion for student engagement, coupled with a proactive approach to challenges.
Proficiency with data management tools (e.g., Banner, Microsoft Office, Google Apps).
Willingness to occasionally work evenings/weekends for events.
