Project Architect β Full Time
WDG | Architects Engineers is seeking a Project Architect for their New Orleans Office.
Position Summary:
The Project Architect will play a critical role in overseeing the design, development, and successful execution of architectural projects from concept to completion. The Project Architect will lead a team of architects, engineers, and other professionals, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards while maintaining excellent communication with clients and stakeholders. The Project Architect will report to the Senior Project Architect.
Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Provide leadership and direction to the project team, including architects, designers, engineers, and other professionals.
- Define project objectives, scope, and deliverables.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation and specifications.
- Coordinate with the client to establish project goals and expectations.
- Collaborate with the design team to review and approve design concepts, ensuring alignment with project objectives, building codes, and industry standards.
- Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and adjust as needed to keep projects on budget. Identify cost-saving opportunities and manage change orders.
- Monitor project timelines, identify critical path items, and proactively address any potential delays. Ensure that the project stays on schedule and meets established milestones.
- Maintain a strong focus on quality control throughout all project phases. Conduct regular design reviews, site visits, and inspections to ensure compliance with design intent and quality standards.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the client. Keep clients informed about project progress, address concerns, and manage client expectations.
- Review and negotiate contracts with clients, consultants, contractors, and vendors. Ensure that all contractual obligations are met.
Skills/Specialized Knowledge:
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Comprehensive understanding of building codes, regulations, and construction processes.
- Ability to balance design creativity with project constraints.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of five years of relevant architecture experience.
- Software experience: Revit and AutoCAD are required.
- A Licensed Architect in the state of Louisiana is required.

- Salary is commensurate with experience
