Trailer Technician

Overview
We are family owned and operated retail trailer dealership seeking a skilled and dedicated Trailer Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on various types of trailers, ensuring they are safe and operational for use. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.

Duties

• Conduct thorough inspections of trailers to identify issues and necessary repairs.
• Perform tire service, including installation, rotation, and balancing.
• Utilize hand tools and power tools to complete repairs efficiently.
• Work with hydraulics systems to troubleshoot and repair hydraulic components.
• Align trailer axles and ensure proper functionality of braking systems.
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding service needs and repair options.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols.
• Work with 12V wiring
• Bearing, Brakes, Drum, Hubs service daily
• Air brake & air ride service

Skills

• Proficient in using hand tools and power tools relevant to trailer maintenance.
• Strong understanding of hydraulics systems and their applications in trailers.
• Ability to perform tire service tasks efficiently and safely.
• Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose mechanical issues effectively.
• A background in trailer mechanics or related fields is preferred but not mandatory.
• Forklift experience a plus
• Steel & Aluminum welding a plus
• Having your own tools and tool box a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
