Dance Instructor

WEBBY Dance Company is looking for FUN, ENERGETIC, & RELIABLE dance instructors to join our team in the Greater Akron and Cleveland area and surrounding cities! **Please note that this is a part-time position with openings only available weekdays during school hours**

Position Overview:

As a WEBBY Dance Company Instructor, your days will be filled with creativity, excitement, and lots of wiggles, giggles, and jumps! You’ll travel to different locations (schools, community centers, parks) each day, teaching dynamic enrichment classes to children as young as 18 months old. Classes are held during the daytime (no evening hours available), leaving you with plenty of time in the afternoons for personal activities or additional teaching opportunities and option to take on after school classes as well!

WEBBY Dance Company provides everything you need to teach – from choreography to props, music, and more! We handle the planning so that you can focus on what you do best: teaching and inspiring kids to move, groove, and grow!

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead Fun, Engaging Classes: Teach exciting and age-appropriate dance and gymnastics classes to children, ages 2-12, at various locations. Classes may include creative movement, beginner gymnastics, and more.
• Travel to Different Locations: Your daily schedule will have you driving to various locations. This could include schools, community centers, daycare centers, parks, and special events. Your own reliable car is essential for getting you from one fun location to the next!
• Bring the Energy: You’ll be the energetic, fun, and positive force that keeps the kids engaged and excited! Your goal is to make every class fun, creative, and memorable through every activity.
• Choreography & Music Provided: No need to stress over lesson plans! WEBBY Dance Company provides all the choreography, music, and props you’ll need for each class. You’ll be able to focus on delivering the best experience for the kids while still adding your personal flair to the lessons.
• Create a Safe, Positive Learning Environment: You’ll maintain a welcoming, safe, and encouraging environment where all children feel supported. Each child should feel celebrated for their progress, no matter how small!
• Manage Logistics: Be prepared to set up and pack down equipment (mats, props, music speakers) at each location. You’ll ensure everything runs smoothly from start to finish.
• Communicate with Staff: Keep WEBBY staff and administration at our partnering schools about all things WEBBY and keep the brand at the forefront of each location! You’ll also collaborate with school staff to ensure the logistics of your classes run smoothly and growing the class to its full potential for enrollment.
• Build Strong Relationships: Develop a bond with your students and the school’s staff. Many kids will look forward to your classes and even ask to come back! You’ll be a strong representative upholding the brand’s standards in the field!

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience Working with Children: You have a knack for engaging with kids and enjoy creating an environment where they feel safe, excited, and motivated to learn. Previous experience teaching dance, gymnastics, or another movement-based discipline to kids is a big plus but not required.
• Dance or Gymnastics Knowledge: A solid understanding of dance (ballet, jazz, hip hop, etc.) and gymnastics basics (tumbling, balance, flexibility) is helpful. You should be comfortable learning new things!
• Energetic & Fun Personality: You’re enthusiastic, positive, and ready to bring your best energy to each class. Your creativity shines through in everything you do, and you’re committed to making every class a fun, exciting experience for the kids.
• Organizational Skills: Being a mobile instructor means you need to stay on top of your schedule, logistics, and class materials. We need someone who is punctual, reliable, and can manage time effectively.
• Flexibility: Your classes will be scheduled between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM, Monday through Friday. You should be available during these hours and comfortable with a flexible schedule that might vary depending.
• Driving: You must have a reliable car and a valid driver’s license.
• Great Communication Skills: You’ll be talking to kids, parents, and local staff. You need to be able to communicate clearly, professionally, and with a friendly attitude.
