POSITION SUMMARY:
Our fundamental purpose at Weed Man is to provide superior, professional lawn care services to our customers. The Area Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of their team of Lawn Care Specialists. They must understand that we are a customer service driven company and the best way to look after the interests of our team members is to look after the interests of our customers first. The Area Manager will work with the Operations Manager in preparing and organizing the completion of daily work and the management of the technical team.
The Area Manager must have excellent management skills including problem solving, communication, leadership, time management and team building. Every task contributes toward the overall goal of providing a great service, in a timely and cost-effective manner.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Recruit, train, lead, manage, assess performance (accountability) Lawn Care Specialists to meet and exceed customer service, sales and production requirements for new and existing customers.
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting daily with customers in resolving turf-care problems and service challenges which will maintain and strengthen customer loyalty
- Participate in the planning, development and execution of strategy for the future development of the company and department.
- Implement programs and training necessary to ensure that your team of Lawn Care Specialists are aligned with the goals of the company and department.
- Manage and enforce all company policies and procedures, as well as Health and Safety policies.
- Manage the execution of production routes for each work day for your team of Lawn Care Specialists.
- Schedule, track and report daily production and calibration data
- Manage chemical mixing teams to ensure efficient loading of tanks with the proper mix of chemicals
- Ensure all technical equipment is in working order.
- Maintain company assets to ensure maximum serviceability, including the vehicle fleet and all production equipment
- Purchasing of chemicals, supplies as assigned and inventory control of same
- Conduct quality control to ensure the department is meeting company standards
- Coordinate, cooperate with other teams within the company in such a way as to gain maximum company results
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required to meet the goals of the company
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
- 1-2 years in a management position in a related industry
- Previous experience in lawn-care an asset
- Strong technical knowledge
- Customer service oriented
- Valid pesticide applicators license, or willing to obtain one
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office
- Valid driver’s license
- Able to work long hours during peak production times.
- Aptitude for working with computers.
- Well organized
- Have the ability to communicate with all partners.
- Self-Motivated
- Detail Oriented
ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in outside weather conditions & is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, & extreme heat and/or cold.
The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts; and is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.

Full Time Monday- Friday
