Job Description
Continuing Education - 60%
- Designs, develops, and delivers all in-house continuing education.
- Creates and deploys marketing strategies for learning initiatives.
- Acts as a change agent by liaising with employees across all shifts to generate excitement and engagement with learning and change initiatives to boost participation, retention, and results.
- Collaborates with employees to analyze and assess training needs and the transfer of learning to behavior from a ground level perspective.
- Regularly engages with employees across all shifts and create meaningful relationships to bridge the gap between Learning & Development and Operations.
- Conducts annual re-certifications. Competency evaluations and remedial training as needed.
- Performs administrative functions necessary to deliver and document continuing education.
- Works varying shifts and times as needed to deliver continuing education to all line level operational personnel.
New Hire Training - 40%
- Designs, develops, and delivers all in-house new hire classroom training.
- Onboards new hires and manages the transition from classroom to on-the-job training.
- Assists in setting up new hire schedules from onboarding though final sign off.
- Conducts competency evaluations throughout the new hire training process.
- Performs administrative functions necessary to deliver and document onboarding.
- Works varying shifts and times as needed to conduct new hire and on-the-job training.

Required Qualifications
Required Education:
- Required Education: High School Diploma/GED
Required Work Experience:
- 2 or more years of experience working in a public safety emergency communications center.
and
- 2 or more years of experience in a training focused role.
- A minimum rating of “pass” or “meets standards” in every category of the most recent performance evaluation for internal candidates.
- Fully trained for internal candidates.
- Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the job will be considered.
Preferred Work Experience
- Experience in a learning and development focused role conducting both classroom and on-the-job training.
- Experience using a variety of training applications and platforms.
- 1 or more years of experience as a certified trainer for internal candidates.
- 1 or more years of experience managing direct reports.

Licenses and Certifications:
- DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State and maintain for the duration of employment.
- Obtain CCIC/NCIC Certification within 6 months of hire and maintain for the duration of employment.
- Obtain International Academies of Emergency Dispatch Emergency Medical Dispatch Certification within 6 months of hire and maintain for the duration of employment.
- Candidate must pass a criminal background check prior to employment start date.
This position is non-exempt from the minimum wage and overtime requirements of the Fair Labor Standards Act and is therefore eligible for overtime pay.
