Job Title: Axle Machining and Welding Technician

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Axle Machining and Welding Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for cutting spindle ends off rear truck axles, machining the axle housing on a lathe, and welding new spindle ends onto the axles. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of machining and welding processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cut spindle ends off rear truck axles using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Set up and operate lathes to machine axle housings to precise specifications.
• Weld new spindle ends onto axles, ensuring strong, durable joints.
• Inspect and measure machined components to verify conformance to specifications.
• Maintain and troubleshoot lathe and welding equipment as needed.
• Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality output.
• Document work processes and maintain accurate records of completed tasks.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in machining and welding, preferably with truck axles or similar components.
• Proficiency in operating lathes and welding equipment.
• Strong understanding of machining and welding safety standards.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical certification in machining, welding, or a related field preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
• Prolonged periods of standing and working with machinery.
