Responsibilities
- Process and record all incoming payments accurately using double entry bookkeeping methods.
- Prepare journal entries and maintain detailed records of accounts receivable transactions.
- Utilize accounting software, such as Sage, to manage financial data efficiently.
- Conduct credit analysis on new and existing clients to assess risk and payment capabilities.
- Handle medical billing processes, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with the public accounting team to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate reporting.
- Negotiate payment terms with clients as necessary to facilitate timely collections.
- Generate regular reports on accounts receivable status for management review.
- Assist in month-end closing procedures related to accounts receivable.
Experience
- Proven experience as an Accounts Receivable Clerk or similar role in a financial services environment.
- Strong knowledge of double entry bookkeeping principles and practices.
- Familiarity with accounting software.
- Experience in credit analysis and medical billing is highly desirable.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and negotiate payment terms with clients.
