Job Overview

Responsibilities

1. Assist with Daily Living Activities:

• Provide support with personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
• Assist with mobility, including transfers from bed to wheelchair and help with walking.

2. Meal Preparation and Feeding:

• Prepare and serve meals according to the client’s dietary needs and preferences.
• Ensure proper hydration and provide assistance with feeding as needed.

3. Household Maintenance:

• Perform light housekeeping tasks such as dusting, sweeping, and maintaining a clean living environment.
• Handle laundry, including washing, drying, and folding clothes.

4. Medication Reminders:

• Provide timely reminders for clients to take their prescribed medications.

5. Companionship and Emotional Support:

• Engage in meaningful conversation and activities to promote social interaction and emotional well-being.
• Accompany clients on walks or other light physical activities as desired.

6. Appointment Scheduling and Reminders:

• Assist in scheduling medical appointments and other important engagements.
• Provide reminders and help clients prepare for their appointments.

7. Errand Services:

• Run essential errands, such as grocery shopping and picking up prescriptions, on behalf of the client.

8. Safety Monitoring:

• Monitor the home environment for potential safety hazards and assist in minimizing risks, such as falls.
• Ensure all assistive devices are in place and properly used.

9. Client Documentation:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of the care provided, including any changes in the client’s condition.
• Communicate regularly with family members or healthcare providers as needed.

Experience
Required:

-Pass a background check

-Have a reliable vehicle AND Valid drivers license with minimum insurance coverage

-Willingness to complete on-the-job training

- Experience in caregiving or related field

- Has CPR and first aid

- Familiarity with long-term care practices

- Ability to work with individuals with disabilities

Nice-to-have:
- Background in direct support or home care service.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 – 20 per week
