Essential Job Responsibilities
Responsible for the development of personnel and implementation of policies, procedures, strategies, and objectives within assigned Production Area. Responsible for overseeing all aspects of the manufacturing process within assigned Production Area. Integral to ensuring that all goals for safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, scrap, headcount, and overtime within assigned Area are monitored and met, and for driving improvements in all areas of responsibility.
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct, and evaluate the performance of assigned Area.
- Ensure that all employees understand and fulfill their individual roles within assigned Area.
- Develop the maturity of assigned Production Area in the subjects of Compliance, Quality, 5s, and Productivity by implementing maturity roadmaps, and ensuring Personnel, Processes, and Conditions adhere to the roadmap.
- Assist in recruiting, hiring, training, and retaining of all area personnel. Develop, motivate, and train subordinates.
- Supervise all Production team members.
- Conduct Layered Process Audits.
- Participate in RC/CA for quality issues.
- Additional Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for total Quality of products and services and authorized to stop work when a nonconformance is noted.
- Responsible for processes in the QMS and EMS. Has authority to develop and change these processes.
- Perform assigned quality system functions as specified in QMS procedures.
- Perform other responsibilities as determined by supervisor.
- Observe established EHS regulations, procedures, and practices.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in metal forming.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Thorough understanding of manufacturing operations, familiarity with information system terms, and general knowledge of applications.
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions.
- Interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
- Strong management and leadership skills.
- High emotional intelligence.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Must work effectively in a team.
- Must have excellent attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, HRIS, ERP, and other related software applications.
Physical Requirements
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud; hearing protection is provided and required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, coolant, or airborne particles and will work near moving mechanical parts.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to perform excessive walking, standing, bending, climbing, reaching, grasping, and lifting.
- Ability to visually inspect parts and use of hands to use measuring gauges.
- Ability to run machines and equipment safely and efficiently.
