Werco Manufacturing, a HUBZone-certified, AS9100/ISO-9001-compliant small business with over 35 years of industry experience, is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Coordinator to join our team. We specialize in fabricating precision components and complex structures for diverse industries, including Aerospace & Defense, Oil & Gas, and Industrial applications. This critical role will ensure seamless shipping and receiving operations while supporting the movement of parts through our production cycle in our 100,000 sq. ft. facility. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the efficiency and success of our manufacturing workflow.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and process incoming materials and components, verifying accuracy against purchase orders and quality standards.
- Prepare and package outgoing shipments, ensuring compliance with customer specifications, regulatory requirements (e.g., ITAR for defense projects), and shipping protocols.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and coordinate with procurement and production teams to ensure material availability for manufacturing schedules.
- Move parts and assemblies between production stages, collaborating with machinists, welders, and assemblers to keep workflows on track.
- Operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) to transport components safely and efficiently throughout the facility.
- Monitor and report production bottlenecks or delays, assisting in troubleshooting workflow issues to maintain project timelines.
- Ensure proper labeling, documentation, and storage of materials in accordance with AS9100/ISO-9001 standards.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area in shipping, receiving, and production zones.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; forklift certification or willingness to obtain one preferred.
- within a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and basic computer skills (e.g., ERP software, Microsoft Office).
- Ability to read and interpret Bills of Materials (BOMs), work orders, and shipping documentation.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and maneuver materials in a busy production setting.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Team player with excellent communication skills to coordinate with production and logistics teams.
- Experience in an AS9100/ISO-9001 or regulated manufacturing environment is a plus.
