In support of the mission of West Chester University, the Facilities Division designs, constructs, and maintains a dynamic, safe, and sustainable campus to continually advance its nationally benchmarked living and learning community. The campus comprises approximately one hundred buildings and structures encompassing residence halls, parking garages, classroom buildings, performance spaces, athletic spaces, food service areas, administration buildings, research facilities, libraries, and multiple utility systems including geo-exchange, electric, water, storm, and sewer.
Reporting to the Executive Director of Facility Support to Auxiliary Buildings, the Assistant Director provides oversight and leadership to develop, implement, and maintain facility-related support services for WCU residential halls, student recreation centers, student union, dining and food service centers and other auxiliary buildings. In collaboration with campus partners, this position supports student success while maintaining PASSHE (Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education) guidelines and procedures and advancing sustainability efforts.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience in higher education property management, experience managing contractors, knowledge of building systems, the ability to communicate with a diverse campus community, and a demonstrated commitment to student success.

The salary for this position is $84,867.
As a member of the Facilities Divisional staff, this position is deemed essential. Essential employees must remain or report to work during partial or full day closings of the University due to hazardous road conditions, emergency circumstances or for other reasons. This position requires the ability to respond to urgent situations outside of regular work hours and report to campus as needed.

Responsibilities include:
- Oversee turnover services by safeguarding quality control measures to ensure the highest level of resident satisfaction
- Identify critical auxiliary facility needs and deliver strategic recommendations for corrective action
- Assist in emergency response protocols to ensure the quality of outsourced work
- Ensure information is effectively communicated to campus partners
- Perform monthly inspections and risk assessments to identify maintenance repairs, capital improvements, and ensure buildings are in excellent condition
- Ensure residence hall move-in readiness prior to each academic term
- Monitor and maintain preventative maintenance schedule
- Oversee and maintain accuracy of facility capital planning software (VFA Facilities) for assets and systems
- Oversee and maintain the surplus furniture inventory quarterly
- Assist with work order management in collaboration with facilities management company
- Assist with the oversight of contracted services in the auxiliary buildings as needed
- Support Residence Life and Housing Policies and Procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree
- Four (4) years of property management experience
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Experience using facility capital planning software
- Higher Education experience
- Experience working in a unionized environment
- Excellent written communication skills
