The Accounting Clerk – Accounts Payable ensures that customers are invoiced for pick-up services and that supplier invoices are paid appropriately within the payment terms as outlined. The position involves regular interaction with suppliers and venders. Building and maintaining positive relations with external customers are key aspects of this role.
Annual base salary range $53,000 - $55,000.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Review supplier invoices captured by the Transform AP system using optical character recognition and machine-learning
Process supplier invoices against purchase orders or manager approvals
Review supplier invoices in the JD Edwards ERP system for correct coding and supplier information
Prepare electronic and cheque payment run by division
Ensure all supplier invoices and supporting information are filed correctly
Retrieve historical invoices and supporting information as requested
Liaise with suppliers to resolve any payment or invoice issues
Maintain both Canadian & US dollar petty cash funds
Communicate with operational teams to resolve any payment or invoice issues
Assist with general office administrative duties (filing, corporate mailouts, organizing, front desk reception coverage, etc.) for various departments
Adhere to the company Code of Conduct and all West Coast Reduction Ltd. policies
Foster a positive team and company culture by ensuring treatment of others is respectful and aligned with company values
Perform other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS & FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
Graduate from a recognized post-secondary certificate or diploma program in the fields of Accounting, Commerce, or a related area of study is an asset
1 to 3 years of experience in an administrative or accounting role is required
Intermediate competency using Microsoft Office Suite products, Enterprise Resource Planning Systems and Document Management Systems required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
