Adjustment Counselor
West Springfield Middle School
Duties:
-Provide group and individual counseling services
-Design and deliver tiered supports and interventions
-Case management services for an assigned caseload
-Collaborate and consult with school personnel on topics related to social/emotional learning and mental health issues
-Provide crisis intervention when needed
-Family communication and collaboration as part of service delivery planning and services
-Collaborate and consult with teachers and related service personnel regarding strategies and interventions appropriate for students and communication regarding progress monitoring
-Maintain contact with outside providers and agencies to facilitate a comprehensive approach to the student’s service delivery
-Develop individual student goals and benchmarks, collect and analyze data, and prepare progress reports
-Other Duties and Responsibilities:
-IEP assessments, goal writing, and progress reports as needed
-Perform other related duties as required
-Participate in and maintain QBS Safety Care certification
-Self-harm and threat assessment screenings as indicated
Qualifications:
-Licensed School Adjustment Counselor/Social Worker
-Knowledge of community resources
-In-depth knowledge of child development and wrap-around interventions to support student’s social-emotional needs
-Strong organizational and team skills
-Has experience working with diverse students
-Demonstrates the ability to support families and parents as well as teachers with student needs
-Demonstrates knowledge of mental health and family systems
-Bilingual encouraged to apply

Salary: Per Unit A Contract
