Executive Loan Assistant
Position Summary:
The position of Lending Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to Executive level Loan Officers. This person is responsible for gathering and compiling data, collecting loan files for internal staff, scanning and copying materials, maintaining files, issuing correspondence, and promotes business for the Bank by maintaining excellent customer relations.
This position requires compliance with all Bank policies and procedures and with all applicable state and federal banking regulations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Performs professional administrative support in greeting customers, answering telephones, taking messages and providing information related to loan status, payoff, balances, etc.
- Accurately and efficiently supports the lending function by preparing loan worksheets and ordering required documentation, such as credit reports, title and lien searches, surveys and title insurance commitments.
- Collects loan files for staff members. May run credit reports and assist in scanning documents.
- Assists in processing new and renewed loans to include talking with customers, orderings documents, meeting with customers to close the loan, funding loan, collecting related fees and recording related collateral documents. Reviews documentation to ensure accuracy of loan transactions.
- At officer direction, reviews and determines appropriate action related to insufficient funds items, immediate credit decisions and check cashing approval.
- Records collateral and financial information to promptly clear exceptions.
- Prepares memos, letters, and reports, including distributing daily/monthly reports.
- Perform other duties and tasks as opportunity arises.

Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from a college or technical school; or 7-10 years of related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Work related experience should consist of a financial institution operation or a Paralegal background. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related.
- Intermediate skills in personal computer operation, word processing, spreadsheet and account opening software programs as well as Microsoft Office.
