Under general supervision, performs complex administrative and professional work related to the development, implementation, coordination, monitoring, and evaluation of U.S. Department of Homeland Security/FEMA and U.S. Department of Transportation/PHMSA grants within the Emergency Management Division. These grants support state and local agencies, law enforcement, emergency responders, and nonprofit organizations in building capabilities to respond to terrorist threats and emergency situations. Responsibilities include applying established protocols for sub-grant management, fiscal and program reporting, and records reconciliation. Regularly communicates with sub-grant applicants, providing consultative services and technical assistance. Ensures grant activities comply with federal regulations and align with national priorities. Maintains a grant tracking database and generates reports to support decision-making. Coordinates with federal, state, and local officials to ensure effective program administration. Reviews grant applications, monitors funding levels, and interprets and applies grant guidelines. Limited travel is required. May act in a supervisory capacity in support of the Grants Chief. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Kanawha CountyTraining: Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
Experience: Six years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid professional experience in grants development or grants administration, program planning, project administration or criminal justice, including two years in a supervisory capacity.
Substitution: A master's degree from an accredited college or university may substitute for one year of the required non-supervisory experience.
Special Requirement: This is a security sensitive position. Applicants must successfully complete a background investigation as a condition of employment.
