What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lottery Video Technical Support Specialist 1 - Revenue - Lottery Commission - Kanawha Co. position at West Virginia?
Located at Lottery Headquarters. This position will be evening, and/or midnight shift. Under general supervision, this position will provide technical support over the telephone with end users such as racetrack personnel, limited video lottery retailers, limited video lottery operators, video lottery audit staff, and video lottery security staff on video lottery machine hardware and software problems that occur in the field. Performs the first level of problem determination with the objective of resolving as many problems as soon as possible. Directs the calls to appropriate technical staff when first level fails. Answers questions regarding video lottery installations, setups, error messages, status, and downtime. Will be responsible for monitoring the video lottery central gaming system. Preference will be given to those with knowledge of current Windows operating systems and Linux. Must complete nightly processing on the Lottery’s internal control system (ICS) for the Lottery on-line drawing. Travel will be required when operating at the backup data center. Must have good communication skills.

Training: High school diploma or the equivalent.
AND
Experience: Two (2) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience working in information technology and/or systems operations.
OR
Substitution: Coursework in computer science from an accredited college or university may substitute for the required experience at a rate of twelve (12) semester hours for every one (1) year of experience.
AND
Special Requirements: Background and credit investigation and security clearance required for employment.
