As a member of the residential team, the therapist provides treatment interventions to individuals who experience severe and persistent mental illness with or without co-occurring substance use disorders. The therapist is a masters-prepared, license-eligible clinician who specializes in helping participants navigate life challenges and cope with various stressors relevant to their wellbeing. While primary responsibilities will be in the capacity of our residential program, clinical functions may also occur within our outpatient program as clinically indicated by program needs.
WestBridge services are provided collaboratively amongst a trans-disciplinary team, under clinical supervision and based on an individual’s scope of practice as identified by WestBridge or relevant licensure..
Primary Duties:
- Collaboratively supports the residential milieu and uphold the principles of a modified therapeutic community.
- Shares responsibility amongst the team as a designated point person; this entails overseeing participant care, advocacy, collaboration, and documentation responsibilities including integrated clinical summaries (biopsychosocial) for new participants based on information gathered during the evaluation phase.
- Provides individual therapy using evidence-based and stage of change practices, or other appropriate modalities within scope of practice.
- Facilitates group therapy (groups may be psychoeducational and process oriented, including but not limited to: Coping Skills, CBT, Recovery Basics)
- Provides clinical updates and psychoeducation to families and other collateral contacts.
- Collaborates with team(s) around participant’s progress, shares clinical impressions, and adjusts treatment plans as necessary.
- Ongoing assessment of individual’s mental status; provides crisis intervention as needed.
- Participates in new participant outreach visits (“meet and greet”). Travel may be required.
- Timely documentation of all services provided in accordance with WestBridge policy and standards of care.
- Participation in the clinical on-call rotation (which includes weeknights, weekends and holidays split amongst staff).
- Work schedule will be Mon-Fri 8:00-4:00pm with flexibility as agreed upon with supervisors and as needed to accommodate program needs and holiday coverage.
- Maintains compliance with local, state and federal regulations, including but not limited to HIPAA and 42 CFR part II.
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Knowledge obtained through completion of a Master’s Degree curriculum in appropriate discipline from accredited institution, with active clinical license (i.e. MLADC, LCMHC, LICSW, etc.) or license eligibility is required.
- Knowledge and experience in the treatment of mental illness and substance use, preferably co-occurring. Understanding of stages of change and experience in the delivery of evidence-based practice desired.
- Knowledge and skill in maintaining care that is trauma-informed and recovery-oriented.
- Knowledge of state and federal rules and regulations governing confidentiality.
- Skill in working and communicating with others. Participates in open, direct, solution-focused communication with participants, families and team members.
- Demonstrates commitment to learning through willingness to receive further training and professional development.
- Demonstrates a high standard of professional conduct, professional boundaries and ethical behavior that will enhance the quality of care and encourage positive interactions among staff, participants and families.
- Valid driver’s license and appropriate vehicle insurance (liability limits of at least 100,000 bodily injury per person /300,000 bodily injury per accident/100,000 property damage).
- Satisfactory Motor Vehicle Records results.
- Employees are responsible for maintaining their personal vehicle and equipment in a safe, operable, & clean state at all times, driving it in a safe and professional manner.
- Satisfactory Criminal Background Screening results.
- Computer skills including but not limited to, Internet access, word processing, videoconference, electronic medical record, report writing and spreadsheet applications.
- Successful pre-employment drug screening with negative results required.
- Active CPR, First Aid and AED, and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Certification required or a plan for timely completion upon hire.
