At Western Bike Company, we are on the lookout for a passionate and results-driven Sales Manager to join our team in Bellingham, WA. Our niche lies in customized carbon wheelsets, and we’ve expanded to include R&D, marketing, customer service, and more. Our core brands include NOBL Wheels, and we also manufacture wheels for other companies. We have a manufacturing facility in Asia, offering composite rims for mountain, road, gravel, and fatbikes, and are continuously evolving.

The Role

The Sales Manager plays a crucial role in managing relationships with bike or wheel brands, and driving sales growth. The role will lead a small team consisting of a Customer Service Manager, B2B Sales, OEM and Distributor Sales. There is a focus on business-to-business sales which requires a strong understanding of both the cycling market and the supply chain dynamics.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will work with our existing business customers in order to maintain strong relationships, and uncover new opportunities to grow with them.
  • Identify key customers (bike manufacturers, component or wheel makers, large bike shops and distributors etc.) and cultivate relationships with them.
  • Create sales forecasts and set performance goals for the sales team.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with clients, ensuring competitive terms and profitability.
  • Resolve any conflicts or issues promptly and professionally to maintain strong customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of the company's product offerings and technology
  • Provide technical and product support to business customers, offering solutions for customization or integration.
  • Work with product development teams to ensure that OEM-specific products are aligned with customer requirements.
  • Manage pricing structures and discount policies to ensure profitability while staying competitive in the market.
  • Ensure that all contract terms, pricing, and specifications are clearly defined and agreed upon.
  • Gather feedback from OEM clients to help improve products or services offered by the company.
  • This role will involve regular participation in weekly and semi-monthly, EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) meetings, which bring key stakeholders together to discuss KPIs, To-Dos, and business challenges.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a results-driven Sales Manager with a strong background in B2B sales, preferably within the cycling industry. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in managing and expanding relationships with OEM clients, a deep understanding of cycling products, and excellent negotiation skills. You should be highly organized, goal-oriented, and able to work cross-functionally with teams like product development, marketing, and logistics to deliver exceptional service and drive growth.

Travel Commitment

This role will require quarterly travel to our Cumberland, BC location to connect with the Canadian team. We will cover the costs of obtaining your E2 business visa for easy cross-border travel.

Some travel to trade shows/events like Sea Otter Classic, Crankworx, NW Tuneup will be required in order to visit with existing and prospective customers

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive hourly pay of $28.85 per hour or potentially more, based on experience.
  • 2 weeks paid vacation, with an additional week after 5 years of service, capped at 4 weeks.
  • 5 paid sick days per year (wellness days can be used regardless of illness).
  • $1,250 Health and Spending Account for medical and wellness expenses.
  • After 3 months of probation, receive 1 carbon wheelset (company property) which can be swapped for new ones each season.
