Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Inside Sales Associate is responsible for assisting in booking freight, working closely with our 3 rd Party Brokerage.
- Responsible for working with 3 PL brokers to book freight on a daily basis
- Searching Load Boards for new freight
- Must communicate efficiently and professionally with Fleet Managers and Customer Service Representatives
- Data entry of loads and freight into company system
- Responsible for understanding customer service / communications expectations and proactively working with Load Planning and Fleet Management to prioritize the meeting of expectations
- Proactive communication with Western Flyer Express customer base
- Must be driven and competitive
- Responsible for input and appointment setting/modifications of loads booked
- Maintain compliance with all applicable company policies and procedures
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers, colleagues and managers
- Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
- 1-2 years of transportation experience preferred
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
