Westminster College and the Department of Business Administration invites applications for a full-time (9-month) tenure-track assistant professor position in Business Administration for the 2025-2026 academic year. Start date is approximately August 15, 2025. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. 


The successful candidate will primarily teach undergraduate courses in business and management. Additional responsibilities include engaging in scholarly research, academic advising, collaborating with Enrollment Services to support student recruitment, and contributing to departmental and institutional service.

Requirements

Essential Functions:

Teach an estimated 4/4 load of undergraduate courses in accordance with program needs. Teaching assignments will be based on department needs but may include subjects such as but not necessarily limited to the following:

  • Introduction to Business
  • Spreadsheet Applications in Business
  • Business Strategy
  • International Business
  • Organizational Behavior
  • Fundamentals of Management
  • Cross-Cultural Management
  • Human Resource Management
  • Operations Management
  • Non-Profit Management

Teaching assignments will be primarily face-to-face (F2F), but may be hybrid, or online.


Other Responsibilities

· Advise and mentor students in business majors

· Develop new courses that fulfill major requirements in the business department and in the college’s general education curriculum

· Contribute to program development

· Participate in departmental assessment, budgeting, and course scheduling routines

· Participate in faculty governance and committee service

· Maintain regular office hours

· Teach seminar courses in the First Year Experience program

· Maintain an agenda for scholarly, professional, and/or creative activity

· Participate in enrollment and recruitment activities by meeting with prospective students, preparing recruitment materials, and other activities as requested


Required Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in Business Administration (ABD considered with a specified completion date) or
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration with relevant professional and/or teaching experience or
  • Graduate degree in a different discipline with “equivalent experience,” defined as:
    • A minimum of five years of professional experience in business and/or
    • Relevant validation within the field such as professional certifications or licensure.
  • Ability to teach undergraduate business administration and management courses at both the introductory and advanced levels within the business department.
  • Demonstrated record or strong potential for scholarly achievement.
  • Passion for teaching and advising undergraduate students.
  • Willingness to contribute to program accreditation and assessment efforts.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Earned terminal degree in Business Administration or near completion.
  • College-level teaching experience, demonstrated by student evaluations or other evidence of effectiveness.
  • Willingness to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration in both curriculum design and research.
  • Commitment to fulfilling teaching and scholarship requirements at a liberal arts institution.
  • Willingness to be a member of a collaborative and collegial faculty.
