DIRECTOR OF DONOR RELATIONS
FULL-TIME, BENEFITED
POSITION SUMMARY :
The Director of Donor Relations is responsible for the development and implementation of programming to enhance the effectiveness of a centralized Advancement Department’s donor and relations. The director’s role is essential to expand the institution’s stewardship, acknowledgment, and engagement efforts through the donor lifecycle as part of Westminster University’s upcoming sesquicentennial and campaign activities. Proactive collaboration across campus is imperative to this position’s success, as is the inclusion of a significant number of campus partners, to meet the expectations of a broad and comprehensive donor relations strategy. This position offers the opportunity to apply best practices and creativity to the donor relations and stewardship function, as this is a new position established to connect Westminster University with its current and future base of volunteers and donors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Ensures donors are acknowledged and recognized to strengthen the retention and expansion of their financial support for the university
- Acts as a liaison and specialist to gift officers to provide cultivation and stewardship assistance to individual donors and prospects
- Develops and assesses policies and procedures across the university for a comprehensive donor relations strategy
- Is responsible for consistent, accurate, and appropriate information-sharing mechanisms for stewarding prospects and donors
- Directs the recognition of donors in both print and digital-based publications, including reporting as necessary
- Provide writing and editorial support for Westminster’s stewardship and donor communications efforts
- Works in collaboration with advancement events manager and other colleagues on donor-focused events as determined
- Collaborates on all donor-focused membership and giving societies, including planned giving, campaign recognition, athletic development, and annual leadership giving
- Perform other duties as assigned
