Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Filer to join our team at Weyerhaeuser Co. As a Journeyman Filer, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining round saws and other filing shop equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Fitting round saws to ensure optimal performance
- Maintaining and calibrating filing shop equipment
- Performing hard tipped welding (alloy) and stellite tipping
- Tensioning and leveling round saws and band saws
- Assisting with saw change service and performing preventative maintenance
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Journeyman Filer in a sawmill environment
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Able to effectively team with others in a rapid-pace work environment
- Commitment to safety values and ability to produce quality work product
