Onsite Summer Agriculture Internship

The Intern will gain hands-on experience in the agriculture and food industry, work closely with experienced professionals and mentors, and have an opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects and initiatives.

Roles and Responsibilities:

·        Assist with data collection, entry, and analysis for specific projects.

·        Collaborate with team members to achieve specific objectives.

·        Assist with market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges in the agricultural industry.

·        Support customer relationship management activities, including customer outreach, feedback collection, and database management.

·        Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and other communication materials for internal and external stakeholders.

·        Attend meetings, take notes, and contribute ideas to discussions.

·        Salesforce account maintenance activities & support for Customer Verification Specialist teams.

·        Alignment of accounts and customers in internal systems.

·        Collect and report customer feedback.

·        Ensure all research activities and documentation adhere to company standards and regulatory guidelines.

·        Maintain accurate and organized records of research data, project milestones, and communication activities.

·        Participate in training sessions and professional development activities.

·        Perform any other responsibilities as needed.

Required Skills & Experience:

·        Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program focused on animal science, agriculture, food science, sustainability, food systems, quality assurance, agribusiness, or similar degree program

·        Experience with agriculture and/or food supply chain management such as beef/dairy cattle, poultry, crop production, swine, seafood, consumer packaged goods

·        Highly detail-oriented and self-motivated

·        Adaptability, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail

·        Teamwork attitude with a strong aptitude for professionalism and courtesy

·        Ability to process a high volume of data in a productive and quality driven manner

·        Strong Microsoft Office and computer skills

·        Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing with internal/external staff, vendors, and clients

·        Maintain confidentiality

Preferred Skills

·        Proficiency in statistical analysis software and data visualization tools

·        Familiarity with public policy processes and experience engaging with community or stakeholder groups

·        Knowledge of current trends and challenges in food systems sustainability and regulatory compliance

·        Experience with project management tools and techniques

Physical Requirements

·        Able to use standard computer keyboard and screen on a frequent basis

·        Able to walk up and down stairs and to sit for up to 8 hours.

·        Ability to use video conferencing tools, phone, and email for communication, which may involve speaking clearly and listening attentively

·        May need to lift or move light objects, such as a laptop or office supplies, weighing up to 35 pounds

Working Conditions: 

·        Castle Rock, CO office

·        Some travel required (~5%)

·        Internships are temporary with a start and end date each semester
