White Butte Ranch is located near Mitchell, Oregon. We are a cow-calf operation, put up our own hay, and have a strong dedication to caring for the land. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join our team as the Ranch Manager.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, animal science, or related work experience
· Minimum of 3 years of experience in ranch management or related field
· Strong knowledge of livestock care, pasture management, haying, irrigation, and sustainable agricultural practices
· Excellent organizational and leadership skills
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Proficient in operating ranch equipment and machinery
· Proficient with agriculture technology, Microsoft Office, email, cell phones and texting
· Valid driver’s license
· Pass drug test
Responsibilities
· Lead and manage day-to-day operations and management of ranch activities
· Oversee the care and management of livestock, including feeding, health monitoring, calving and pasture rotations.
· Implement and maintain pasture management, haying, irrigation, and sustainable agricultural practices
· Coordinate and supervise current ranch staff and seasonal workers
· Maintain ranch equipment and facilities, ensuring they are in good working condition
· Assist in budgeting and financial planning for ranch operations
· Management of government grants
