Alternative Learning Teacher - CHS

Required Qualifications

• Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with an endorsement to teach students in grades 9-12, or out-of-
  state endorsement to teach students in grades 9-12 that is transferable to Washington State.
• Applicants must meet highly qualified teacher requirements for secondary education (no specific content area
  required).
• Develop an engaging and adaptable curriculum to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues, administrators, parents, and support staff to foster a positive learning
  environment which addresses individual student needs.
• Monitor and support student progress and provide timely, personalized feedback.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and communication with students and parents.
• Maintain professionalism and integrity in all interactions and duties.
• Demonstrate the ability to integrate technology into the classroom.
• Demonstrate the ability to implement effective formative and summative assessment practices that promote
  student engagement and learning growth.
• Demonstrate ability to articulate and implement teaching practices that develop the social and emotional
  intelligence of high school students.
• Demonstrate ability to productively collaborate with colleagues in a Professional Learning Community
  environment.
• Demonstrate strong technical skills including Google Sheets.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by administration.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to teach other courses as qualified for and needed.
• Knowledge of working within an extended period classroom.
• Training in Trauma Informed Teaching Strategies.
• GLAD/SIOP/AVID trained.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English).
