Superintendent

Our client is seeking a Superintendent to join their team. They are a full-service New York City based construction firm providing Pre Construction and Construction Management, General Construction, and Consulting services to clients throughout the New York / Tri-State area. With over 100 diverse and dedicated professionals on staff, they service the following sectors: restaurants/hospitality, commercial interiors, healthcare, institutional, retail, core and shell/ground-up/infrastructure, lobby/façade/base building work and historic preservation.

Job Function

• Project Oversight:
• Manage daily construction site activities, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, monitoring progress to meet deadlines.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal building codes and regulations.
• Team Management:
• Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and on-site personnel.
• Conduct regular team meetings to review progress, address challenges, and align on objectives.
• Mentor and guide team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
• Quality Assurance:
• Inspect work performed to ensure it meets design specifications and quality standards.
• Proactively identify and resolve issues that could impact the quality or timeline of the project.
• Safety Management:
• Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and guidelines on the construction site.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and training sessions.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate records of daily activities, progress reports, and project documentation.
• Communicate project updates to stakeholders, including project managers and clients.
  

Job Requirements

• Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred).
• Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent, preferably in commercial or industrial construction.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficient in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• In-depth understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
• Certifications:
• OSHA 30 certification required.
• Additional certifications like PMP, LEED AP, or First Aid/CPR are a plus.
• Physical Requirements:
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Physically capable of standing, walking, and climbing for extended periods.
