POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Consumer Title Specialist
Organizational Relationships: Reports to Consumer Loan Servicing Manager
Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A
General Function: Under direct supervision, process and complete all vehicle title paperwork for new purchases and work to secure liens on all currently owned vehicles. Research title issues and assist lending staff with title-related questions. Communicate with county and state motor vehicle offices, dealerships, and lenders to resolve title-related issues and secure our lien. Assist and support the Consumer Loan Servicing Manager with all facets of new consumer loans, paid-off consumer loans, consumer loan purchasing and consumer loan refinancing. Assist other team members when and as needed.
Position Functions:
- Prioritize all other items in workflow at the beginning of each workday, to determine most important and time-sensitive tasks and projects; check all other items in workflow at the end of each workday, to determine which tasks need to be done as soon as possible on the following workday.
- Perform all vehicle title-related tasks and projects which are requested and required by Consumer Loan Servicing Manager and Departmental need.
- Follow all established Consumer Department procedures as explained and trained by Consumer Loan Servicing Manager. Learn, recommend and implement procedures as necessary and applicable.
- Perform Quality Assurance review on hourly employee loans and modifications.
- Process employee lien releases.
- Process journal tickets for new employee loans.
- Track and release electronic out of state lien filings thru DDI, approve and submit monthly DDI invoice for payment.
- Sign vehicle titles and lien filing forms on behalf of WCU using member POAs.
- Sign and release OOS title liens on behalf of WCU.
- Consult and discuss recommendations with manager before implementation.
- Update written Title processes and procedures as needed and submit for manager approval.
- Serve as a resource to department staff and consumer lenders to answer questions and research issues.
- Utilize privileges to set up new users in VITU and unlock existing user accounts.
- Invoice and reconcile GL recons for AFG and MBP.
- Research and execute stale checks from accounting.
- Assist as back-up Consumer Loan Processor as directed by manager.
- Cross-train with other Department Personnel to enable continued workflow.
- Assist other Consumer Department personnel by answering questions, solving problems and helping with complex work-related matters.
- Report to work on time and as scheduled.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Adobe, including formatting documents, and building and using PDF forms.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing and over the phone with all internal and external stakeholders. Courtesy and tact are essential.
- Ability and willingness to interact calmly and professionally with people from all backgrounds.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and organize day-to-day responsibilities with attention to detail and timeliness.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to work with others in an effective manner, listen well, share work-related information and be tolerant of others’ work styles.
- Competent with Microsoft Office; ability and willingness to work with a variety of office equipment and software systems.
- Ability to lift up to 15 lbs., with or without accommodation.
- Complete mandatory annual BSA training that includes Red Flag, Identity Theft, OFAC, CTR and SAR reporting and thresholds, as well as the safe keeping of member information, and passes any applicable tests.

Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or banking preferred.
- 3 years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience
