PURPOSE OF CLASSIFICATION
The purpose of this classification is to provide routine clerical support to an assigned department and/or program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Receives applications, work orders, forms, or other documents from customers and/or department personnel; records receipt of documents; logs pertinent information; and prepares documents for processing.
Maintains automated files and spreadsheets; enters and updates information in automated systems; and retrieves and reports data as requested.
Prepares letters, forms, reports, billing statements, invoices, work orders, timesheets and/or correspondence.
Prepares and maintains paperwork files and records; pulls files and documents upon request; photocopies documents and distributes and/or files; and requests information from other departments as necessary to complete department records/files.
Receives, dates and distributes incoming mail; and prepares outgoing mail.
Orders office supplies as requested; and receives, stores, and delivers documents, office supplies and records.
May receive payments for fees or department services, record and receipt payments; and prepare payments for deposit.
Operates a personal computer, telephones, copiers and other general office equipment as necessary to complete essential functions, to include the use of word processing, spreadsheet, database, or other system software.

Typical Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED; supplemented by six months of clerical experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
