JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Research Assistant
DEPARTMENT: Clinical Research
REPORTS TO: Practice Administrator
Job Summary: This individual is responsible for providing administrative support to the Clinical Research Coordinator through vetting of potential study patients, in-person/telephone interviews, patient tracking, charting, filing, and audit compliance.
Education and Experience:
1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Ophthalmology/Optometry experience preferred
Essential Skills and Abilities:
1. Outstanding written and verbal communication
2. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
3. Must be able to work as a team member
4. Excellent follow-up skills
5. Willingness to continually seek education and self-improvement
6. Ability to perform refractions is preferred but not required
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Participates in patient recruitment activities
2. Informs research participants about study objectives
3. Administers questionnaires
4. Executes appointment reminder calls
5. Adheres to research regulatory and ethical standards
6. Maintains patient records
7. Assists in general office duties as assigned
Job Type: Full-time
