Work Schedule: Typically a 40 hour work week. Office hours are 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday. On-call may be required.

In this position, you will be a team member of a High Performance Computing (HPC) Operations team supporting the Technical Computing environment.
Job Summary
Responsibilities include assistance with the administration, integration and maintenance of parallel high performance computing clusters, and other systems and peripherals. Provides technical assistance and consultation for staff and students on the use of the high-performance computing platforms.
Essential Functions
Assists in providing systems support for advanced research computing environment, which may include the installation, integration and management of high-performance computer systems, clusters, operating systems, peripherals, and system interfaces; monitoring system usage; ensuring that the high-performance computing complex is operating at optimal performance and reliability levels; and with consults, training and development, and maintaining systems documentation. Works in collaboration with staff to manage the hardware and systems software infrastructure to provide an effective, reliable, high performance, scalable computing environment. Assists with configuration and tuning of the configuration and tuning of batch queueing systems in a massively parallel production environment; with the collection of parallel system utilization statistics; with identifying and resolving computer system anomalies and operational problems; and provides systems support for electronic mail, name resolution, and file sharing services. Maintains an understanding of the state-of-the-art computing systems and peripherals; computer operating systems; and scalable, parallel architectures Works with users and other computational professionals in evaluating user requirements, and in the configuration and deployment of computational resources Works with computer hardware and software vendors to maintain an understanding of industry trends and evolving technology. Assists in providing consultation and technical support for marketing and outreach activities. Serves on project teams as needed. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent
Two (2) years of experience in a professional technical support environment; every 30 credit hours can be substituted for one year of related experience.
