Position Information Job Title Director of Marketing and Communications Job Description The Marketing and Communications Director is tasked with the development, implementation, and management of comprehensive marketing and communication strategies to promote and enhance the college’s programs and services. This role includes creating strategic marketing goals, overseeing the production of materials, coordinating advertising efforts, and engaging with various stakeholders to ensure alignment with the college’s mission and objectives.
This is a full-time, twelve-month position in the Institutional Advancement (IA) Office reporting to the Vice President of Institutional Advancement and Executive Director, WCC Foundation.
Full Time or Part Time Full Time Essential Duties Summary Marketing Duties :
- Marketing Plan Development : Develops, writes, and implements strategic and enrollment marketing plans and overall college marketing plan that demonstrates the mission and goals of the college, outlining marketing goals and strategies for college programs and services; monitors relevant activities and evaluates success in achieving goals and strategies.
- Comprehensive Communication : Develops and manages a comprehensive communication plan that includes multiple media such as mail, newspaper, radio, email, telephone, website, and social media.
- Advertising and Marketing Media Coordination : Coordinates design and production of advertising / marketing media; managesadvertising efforts.
- Collaboration with Departments : Works with departments and programs on implementing communication and marketing plans that align with college priorities for optimal effectiveness.
- Communications Material Coordination : Oversees the production of communications materials; coordinates the design of major marketing publications and web materials; designs and prepares marketing materials for Foundation activities and collaborates with the social media and marketing specialist to secure photography and videography services as needed for marketing projects.
- Advertising / Media Budget Management : Manages purchasing and budget for advertising / media time, space, and services; oversee daily / weekly advertisement production, placement, and publication; coordinates efforts with vendors and contractors for media production, placement, and purchases.
- Cooperative Relationships : Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with representatives of media, community groups, and public interest groups as needed.
- Marketing Budget Management : Develops and administers the college’s marketing budget for maximum effectiveness as well as short and long-term budgets for the marketing and public relations efforts.

Physical Demands The work environment is primarily an office setting with occasional requirements to attend events, meetings, or other engagements off-site. The role may involve occasional evening or weekend work to meet deadlines or attend college events.
The position requires a strategic and analytical perspective in addition to a broad knowledge of the operations of the College. Requires ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations. Requires strong written and verbal communication, administrative and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple institutional priorities. Must be able to work under pressure and handle all confidential matters with discretion.

Reasoning Ability : Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Essential functions of this position require lifting, manual dexterity, ability to communicate, reasoning, critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytic skills.
Medium work : Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and / or up to 5 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body; involves sitting for long periods for meetings. Salary Grade Salary Salary Range : $55,000 to $65,000 based on education and experience in accordance with the college salary plan.
