Job purpose
The purpose of this role is to oversee the end-to-end management of construction projects, including generating sales leads, developing strategies, proposals, and scopes of work, and ensuring successful project execution.
Duties and responsibilities
- Create and develop sales leads, strategies, estimates and proposals
- Receive sales calls and build relationships with potential clients
- Develop scopes of work, construction schedules and coordinate project designs
- Procurement of permits, licenses, labor, subcontractors and materials etc.
- Review and approve shop drawings and materials for conformance to projects
- Monitor budget and develop cost control measures to make decisions accordingly
- Monitor schedules and quality of work for adherence to deadlines and ensuring high quality product delivery
- Develop budget/schedule of values for invoices
- Inventory invoice, job costs, and backups for invoicing
- Determine percentage of completion issues with invoices immediately with client
- Monitor and collect on past due invoices
- Resolve issues on projects in a professional manner
- Provide project close-out services and documentation
- Following up with warranty issues to ensure delivery of successful projects
- Oversee and proactively resolve any obstacles with owner and/or client
- Perform invoicing with accounting staff and deliver invoices to clients.
- Conduct final walk through and closeout
- Successfully motivate staff to accomplish common goals
- Ensure company policies and procedures are being followed
- Any other duties assigned by Owner
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED is required
Bachelor’s Degree in Management or Construction is preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Construction Management
Minimum of 2 years of reading blueprint experience
Knowledge of construction materials, building codes, insurance forms and construction techniques, codes, permits and OSHA regulations
Skills, Abilities and Knowledge
- Intermediate computer skills and knowledge with Microsoft products, MS Excel and Procore
- Excellent multitasking skills
- Ability to handle pressure well while working through tight deadlines
- Able to successfully follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to work cohesively in a team environment
- Great attention to detail
- Pro-active thinking skills
- Able to lift up to 100 pounds up to 30% of the time
Working conditions
Working conditions at Williams Construction may include normal office conditions, enduring hot weather, standing for extended periods of time on concrete flooring, and lifting objects to waist height and overhead. Sitting for up to 8 hours and standing and walking for up to 4 hours.
Physical requirements
Lift and carry up to 100 pounds up to 30% of the time. When needed wear PPE, maintain a steady pace which may require lifting objects above and/or below the waist.
Seeing: Must able to see to read and follow instructions
Hearing: Must be able to hear to effectively communicate with clients, vendors, and coworkers
Sitting: Must be able to sit for long periods of time
Standing/Walking: Must be able to move about worksite
Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: Must be able to stoop or kneel to pick up products or materials
Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 pounds up to 30% of the time.
Employee will be required to demonstrate continued knowledge of this position’s current regulations and requirements. All employees are required to follow safety standards and wear
all personal protective equipment in designated areas.
