POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Youth Development Director at WC Family YMCA oversees the development and operations of various programs, such as before and after school, swim lessons, swim team, youth sports and all other youth programs. This role is designed to address community health, strengthen outreach to the community and create organizational longevity/sustainability.

PROGRAM LEADERSHIP AND PLANNING:
- Oversees the planning, development, and implementation of all Williams County Family YMCA youth, teen, and family programming.
- Develops, implements, and manages program planning to promote program growth. Ensures high-quality, member-focused programs and events through innovative program development, evaluation, and ongoing staff training.
- Ensures youth programs and services meet community needs, including supervising existing youth program activities, establishing new programs, and expanding programming as needed.
- Manages youth programs, including developing and monitoring budgets to meet fiscal objectives; compiling program statistics to evaluate effectiveness and participation; securing and scheduling facilities; and creating and scheduling classes, activities, or events.
- Utilizes registration, attendance tracking, and communication systems (e.g., Daxko, scheduling platforms, etc.) to support program administration.
STAFFING AND SUPERVISION
- Recruits and hires diverse staff and volunteer teams across multiple dimensions of diversity. Onboards and develops them for success.
- Directly supervises site leads and part-time staff, providing coaching, performance reviews, and ongoing leadership development.
- Leads YMCA program departments by providing direction, support, and administrative efficiencies for staff through standardization, registration, quality standards, and risk management protocols.
- Prepares and conducts all in-services, training, and meetings.
COMPLIANCE AND SAFETY
- Ensures full compliance with all applicable state child care licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and organizational policies.
- Ensures the implementation of risk management protocols, including emergency procedures, behavior management, and child protection policies.
- Accountable for the execution of policies and procedures of the YMCA.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND COMMUNICATION

QUALIFICATIONS:
- YMCA Team Leader certification within one year.
- 1 year related experience preferred.
- Minimum age of 21.
- Within 30 days of hire, completion of Child Abuse Prevention, CPR, First Aid, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens training.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
