Job Summary:
Willie Johnson Ford is seeking an experienced and dedicated Parts Manager to oversee the parts department and ensure the efficient operation of all parts-related functions. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive parts management, a strong understanding of inventory control, and exceptional customer service skills. This role is responsible for managing the procurement, organization, and distribution of parts while leading a team and maintaining excellent relationships with both customers and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily operations of the parts department, ensuring proper stock levels and efficient handling of parts requests.
Manage inventory control and monitor parts usage to minimize waste, ensuring timely replenishment and order fulfillment.
Collaborate with the service department to ensure the availability of parts needed for repairs and maintenance.
Supervise, train, and evaluate parts department staff, ensuring high levels of productivity and customer satisfaction.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with parts suppliers, negotiating pricing, delivery times, and special orders as needed.
Provide excellent customer service by assisting both internal and external customers in locating and purchasing parts.
Prepare and manage the department’s budget, ensuring cost-effective operations while meeting sales and profit goals.
Process and track warranty parts claims and ensure compliance with manufacturer guidelines.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe parts storage area.
Stay up-to-date with the latest automotive parts trends, new product lines, and dealership software systems.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in parts management within the automotive industry.
Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role is required.
Strong knowledge of automotive parts, tools, and service operations.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to manage inventory and use parts management software systems.
Proven ability to lead a team and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Outstanding customer service skills and problem-solving abilities.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
High school diploma or equivalent required; automotive-related certification is a plus.
