JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Learning and Development Manager
PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Learning and Development (L&D) Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing training and development programs to enhance employee skills, knowledge, and performance across all Winans locations. This role supports the company’s mission by fostering a culture of fun, personal growth, quality, and respect.
ACCOUNTABILITY
Reports directly to the Director of Operations and works closely with the Director of Marketing and Director of Human Resources.

No direct reports at this time.
WORK SCHEDULE
Full-time, Monday through Friday. Occasional weekend hours may be required depending on seasonality and business needs.
MISSION
Foster an environment where our team members are having fun, growing personally, delivering quality products and service, and bringing joy to customers. This will be accomplished through program creation, training execution, and hands-on presence in our locations.
KPIs
- Training completion rates: Percentage of employees completing required training programs on time.
- Employee Engagement: Improvement in survey results related to employment. This may also be measured by retention rates.
- Customer Satisfaction Scores: Positive impact on customer experience following training initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Program Development and Delivery: Design and implement onboarding, role-specific, sales, and product-focused training materials.
- Needs Assessment: Partner with leadership to identify skill gaps and align training initiatives with business goals.
- Evaluation and Reporting: Measure the success of training programs through feedback, assessments, and KPIs.
- Technology and tools: Manage and optimize technology and tools, including a future Learning Management System.
- Compliance and Standards: Ensure all training materials comply with health, safety, and operational standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field, Human Resources, or Education.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in learning and development, preferably in retail or hospitality.
- Experience designing learning content and managing multi-location programs is a plus.
- Strong facilitation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Excellent project management and organizational abilities.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
- Ability to build trust and collaborate across teams, influencing without direct authority.
- Passion for joyful, engaging, and inclusive learning experiences.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to traverse all parts of the store quickly and efficiently
- Prolonged standing
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
