Overview
Job Summary
Designs, creates, and maintains company files using multiple platforms for both internal and external promotions, including conceptualization and creation of advertising templates and layouts, signage, outdoor media, internal communications and training manuals, and various other company projects as requested.
Skills Required
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including specific expertise in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat Pro.
- Proficiency in Quark XPress and Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge of MailChimp digital newsletter application and complementary digital image hosting site.
- Excellent copywriting and grammar skills to ensure a clear, concise message.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities
- Utilize advanced computer skills and creative originality to conceptualize, design, and develop custom visual communications for both print and digital platforms throughout the company.
- Ability to independently design, develop, and create files for use in both commercial print (CMYK) and digital (RGB) applications, with knowledge of Pantone and Hex/RGB color builds.
- Knowledge and application of printing best practices, design trends, and continuous Adobe Creative Suite design software updates.
- Create, maintain, and update files for various print projects (recruiting and training materials, forms, directories, merchandising maps, mailers, outdoor media, internal communications, store supplies, etc.)
- Ability to provide accurate print specifications to secure bids/quotes from outside vendors for simple to complex print projects.
- Facilitate the production, bindery, and distribution of print projects, whether utilizing in-house equipment or contracting with outside print vendors.
- Design, produce graphics, and format digital internal WinCo employee newsletter which includes maintaining email address list of 20,000 employees.
- Fulfill all retail store and DC order requests.
- Provide store support for compare shops both remotely or on-site as needed.
- Order and maintain supplies.
- Occasional travel as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
Abilities Needed
- Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize projects and effectively manage time to ensure deadlines are met.
- Utilize excellent verbal, written and inter-personal communication skills, including composition, grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Perform basic math (add, subtract, divide and multiply) quickly and accurately.
- Ability to self-direct and work both independently and in group settings.
- Establish and maintain good rapport with co-workers, vendors, customers and others.
- Perform all duties with accuracy and efficiency.
- Able to sit, stand, twist or kneel for long periods of time and the ability to lift 50 lbs.
Office Equipment Use
- Laptop/PC computer, keyboard, mouse, general office equipment (desk phone, cell phone, calculator, fax, copier, scanner, etc.) and other devices.
- Commercial cutter, hand cutters, laminator, HP plotter, various printers, and hand truck.
