Title: Plant Manager
Job Location: Mt. Sterling, Ohio
Reports To: VP of Operations or COO
Summary:
Responsible for the manufacturing and warehouse operations that operate 24/7 by assigning work and supervising the department managers along with ensuring that Company directives, policies and procedures are followed.

Job Requirements:
1. Leadership responsibility for 5-8 department managers (Manufacturing, Warehouse, Quality Control, Maintenance and Human Resources) along with indirectly managing a workforce of up to 70 hourly team members.
2. Plan the production activity of the plant, and schedule the workforce to insure the timely delivery of all customer orders.
3. Manage and control inventories of raw material, work-in-process and finished goods
4. Oversee the maintenance of lid machines, wrap machines, handling and bagging equipment along with utilities such as boilers, water pumps and air compressors
5. Control inventory levels for maximum “turns” and minimal product obsolescence.

6. Maintain the plant and its equipment to provide a safe work environment for employees. Ensure employees are trained in the safe performance of their jobs as ways to further insure an accident-free workplace.
7. Train and develop personnel at all levels in the organization for successor responsibilities, and for the effective execution of their duties.
8. Develop a cohesive workforce that is motivated, characterized by high morale and a team approach to getting the job done.
9. Meet the annual performance objectives and metrics established for the plant.
10. Complete production and efficiency reports as required.
11. Responsible for safely achieving established production schedules and efficiencies while monitoring equipment, processes and operating techniques on a continuous basis to assure quality standards are met.
12. Meet the planned objectives set for the plant, with special attention given to the control of those costs that affect plant overhead and product cost.
13. Maintain a work-place safety record that has as its goal a minimum level of recordable injuries and no lost-time injuries.
14. Maintain product quality to insure a high level of customer satisfaction, minimal complaints and no lost business due to quality.
15. Perform the duties of Plant Manager in an ethical and highly professional manner.
16. Ensure that EEOC requirements and affirmative action goals are met and employees are treated in a manner that is fair and equitable.
17. Enforces plant safety rules, Lean manufacturing principals, housekeeping standards and employee work practices in accordance with company policies and OSHA/FDA regulations.
18. Follow all SQF, GMP and sanitation guidelines along with maintaining a high level of personal hygiene.
19. Performs other duties as assigned

Work a 10 hour shift/day while sitting, standing, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, grasping and lifting throughout the entire shift. Work in-doors in an office and in a manufacturing environments.

Qualifications:
Education – Bachelor’s Degree – Engineering or Industrial Management a plus

Experience – Seven years of supervision experience in a food grade manufacturing environment. Must have experience with P&L management, cost and project management, plant Supply Chain oversight, Demonstrated ability to manage cost, quality and productivity while driving margin improvement.
Skills – Mechanical aptitude; computer literate, experience using Excel, Word and Outlook; good oral and written communication skills. Strong leadership skills and prefer hands on experience in a Lean manufacturing environment.
