Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Program Director to oversee and lead our program management team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in behavioral health, program development, and budgeting, with a passion for working with individuals with developmental disabilities.

Pay range: $80k-$100k

Responsibilities

  • Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates, and directs the execution of the Program (MHRC) and other therapeutic activity programs which meet the needs and interests of each resident in the facility in accordance with regulatory requirements under State and Federal Law.
  • Identifies, in conjunction with the Clinical Director and Administrator, the facility’s key performance indicators. Establishes an ongoing system to monitor these key indicators such as the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement process in the department.
  • Organizes and supervises the provision of activity groups and special rehabilitative services of the Program, including assessment, certification, treatment planning and direct treatment services.
  • Facilitates Interdisciplinary Behavioral Team Meetings.
  • Monitor the quality of written documentation in the medical record of resident involvement and progress in the program on a regular basis. Ensures documentation is accurate, informative, and descriptive of the resident's condition, care provided and resident’s response to the care.
  • Coordinates the Program services and other treatment services with the overall treatment schedule with other departments in the facility.
  • Attends and conducts the monthly family meeting ensuring family members input into the contact and structure of the meeting.
  • Monitors the order and safety of Program group rooms and offices.
  • Coordinates community contacts for Program to be brought into the facility (12 Step groups, etc.)
  • Maintains sufficient resources to maintain effective behavioral programming including adequate availability of effective
  • Supervises activities of volunteers to the Program Department.
  • Reviews Program hours weekly and monthly, and recommends individualized, activity treatment action for residents as necessary.
  • Assists the Director of Staff Development in ensuring that orientation, annual education, in-service training and continuing education for clinical staff members will meet regularly compliance as well as lead to program and staff growth.
  • Provides occasional direct service to residents daily in order to ensure effective programming supervision.
  • Reviews and participates in appropriateness of referrals to facility, including conducting on-site evaluations when necessary.
  • Participates in Professional Assault Response Training® principles when necessary, i.e., verbal (de-escalation, active listening, calm talk, etc.); physical escort, physical standing restraint, physical wall restraint, physical prone restraint; and mechanical soft and leather restraint.
  • Identifies, reports and responds to extreme behavior, such as verbal aggression, biting, hitting, kicking, throwing items (food, objects, bodily fluids), self-inflicted injuries, property damage, substance abuse, etc., in accordance with applicable local, state and federal regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Maintains an awareness of and support for facility marketing goals and efforts.
  • Participates in the facility Quality Assurance and CQI process. Serves on committees and develops/implements improvement.
  • Reviews complaints/grievances in department and make recommendations for improvement. Seek approval from Administrator prior to implementation. Ensure communication of recommendations to staff.
  • Maintains and implements department policies and procedures; ensures staff compliance.
  • Attends mandatory in-services and facility/department meetings as required.
  • Ensures that all OSHA and safety standards are followed, as applicable to the position and in the business location or workplace in accordance with state and federal regulation, Policies and Procedures.

Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Relations, Child Development, Rehab Therapy (RT, OT, etc.) or other Social Service field from an accredited college or university one of the above fields or equivalent education as required by the Department of Mental Health is required. Master's Degree preferred.
  • Two years direct service experience treating the mentally ill, preferably severely mentally disordered patients.
  • One-year activity program supervision with employee management experience preferred.
  • Registration, certification, licensure, or eligibility in appropriate discipline.
  • Knowledgeable of skilled nursing home regulations, procedures, laws, regulations and guidelines pertaining to long-term care.
  • Understanding of psychiatric illness and its treatment including the ability to assess and implement treatment plans of seriously mentally ill adults.

Salary : $80,000 - $100,000
