DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Assist in the development and deployment of a Quality Management System, to include quality assurance practices, quality control measures and continuous improvement projects. This role requires excellent communication and computer skills, specifically in the development of Microsoft Word documents, Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft PowerPoint presentations. This individual will train other production personnel in the performance of quality tests and will maintain records associated with production.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.
- Follow written procedures for plant operations.
- Help manage workflow of raw materials and work-in-progress
- Performs tests and/or inspections of work-in-progress (WIP) material in various stages within the production process. Reviews material characteristics such as dimensional, mechanical, and/or functional.
- Performs data entry of results recorded on paper.
- Know basic quality terms, definitions and concepts, specification limits, control limits, etc.
- Know types of measurement, measurement terminology and the different types of measurement scales.
- Interpret customer specifications to identify nonconforming material.
- Place nonconforming material on hold until disposition can be made in conjunction with Plant Management team.
- Initiate product deviations, route them for approval, copy and distribute approved deviations.
- Record and report daily results to Operations Manager
- Process receipt and inspection of rejected material from customer sites.
- Updates quality control documents and spreadsheets, as required.
- Train operators and others, as required, to complete quality control tests.
- Serve as part of Site Leadership Team during production operations meetings and Gemba walks.
- Conducts inventory of raw materials, WIP, finished goods and supplies.
- Assist in packing product, as needed.
minimum qualifications
Education: High school degree or GED.
Experience: At least 2 years of experience. Printing/folding carton experience preferred.
Certification or Licensure Requirements: None.
Abilities, KNOWLEDGE, and SKILLS REQUIRED
- Know root cause failure analysis methods (Five Whys, RCFA, PDCA, or FMEA).
- Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
- Have experience performing process audits and understand how to respond to any nonconformance.
- Desired: Lean or Six Sigma experience
- Attention to detail.
- Reading comprehension.
- Critical thinking.
- Perform tasks independently with little to no supervision.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
